It's Been A While

Dancing in the rain Adrian Borda

it's been a while
since I've seen your smile
your words echo in moments of silence
I can still feel the pain & joy in the rain
I'll talk to you when I can

it's been a while
since we shared our thoughts
I gave you my heart, my soul
I let you into my secret world

It's been a while
since we dared to dream
caught in the magic of words
sleeping in sheets, curled

It's been a while
since I've seen your smile
your words echo in moments of silence
I can still feel the pain & joy in the rain
I'll talk to you when I can...

It's been a while
since,   I've heard your songs
entwined in the beauty of us
in stillness,  our notes swirled

It' s been a while
since,  you drifted away
I'm still here, waiting to fly
in the wings,  curtains furled

It's been a while
since I've seen your smile
your words echo in moments of silence
I can still feel the pain & joy in the rain
I'll talk to you when I can...

It's been a while
since, I sent you a smile
hope in a luminous sky
forgiveness in a misty pearl

Let us dance again and feel the rain!

  3. I feel the nostalgia and the wistfulness, the wishing again for what was, the hopefulness. Nicely penned, Truedessa.

    "It's been a while

    hope in a luminous sky
    forgiveness in a misty pearl"

  10. So very beautiful. I love the repeated lines. You painted such a contrast between sleeping in sheets curled, and the wings sadly fueled....but hoping to fly. Sigh.

  14. This is wonderfully crafted. There is longing in it, but it is tinged with bitter-sweetness ... more sweet than bitter, I think. Beautiful writing.

    1. Hi, I didn't use any particular form for the poem as I was thinking more lyrical. Thanks for asking :)
