in silence the sound of good-bye
melting winter snow, spring arrives
listen for the willows soft cry
in silence the sound of good-bye
awakening, strong roots survive
stretching upward, towards the sky
in silence the sound of good-bye
melting winter snow, spring arrives
sharing with Poets United
welcoming upcoming spring

Melting snow...the sound of good-bye. We all wait for spring.
ReplyDeleteBeautifully penned, Truedessa.
I can see them, I wonder if they are discussing the seasonal change, maybe speaking of new living arrangements... I really like this "silence", it makes me think of the way spring is coming to New York this year--quietly, from under the snow that still covers the ground.
ReplyDeleteYou struck my heart at the willow tree. The tree by Stow Lake is a willow. (Arlene's and my tree)
