in the swell of ocean waves
visions of you in a dream tide
love is wild, it cannot behave
I heard Neptune's roaring cry
tis love,a mortal heart craves
thinking of you, under blue sky
swimming in a riptide, be brave
swimming in a riptide, be brave

The sea is my favorite. I like all of your use of rhyme and assonance here.
ReplyDeleteThe dream tide sounds enchanting and the riptide dangerous.

ReplyDeleteA wild love for sure!
Love is indeed wild - and courts danger in the search for peace...
ReplyDeleteFabulous phrasing to conjure up the heart of the Ocean.
ReplyDeleteLonging for her man at sea.
ReplyDeleteThe sea inspires...this is something I would like to receive, beckoning me to join that person on their trip. Nice.
ReplyDeleteHi Truedessa - lovely poem the tides do change so much ... throwing us out before perhaps kindly taking us under their soft wing of a gentle sea ... cheers Hilary

Swimming through the waves until she reaches that hand, hopefully pulling towards land.
ReplyDeleteBrave indeed. Who doesn't need a little more courage on a daily basis?
ReplyDeleteI was lost twice in the "perils" of that wave
ReplyDeleteLove, like the sea, can be unpredictable, and is bigger than we are. Lovely postcard poem.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, layered poem, Truedessa. It flows like the waves.
ReplyDeleteAs someone who can't swim, I think I need some extra bravery. Does Neptune have any floaties I can borrow?
ReplyDeleteAw, lovely lines...
ReplyDeleteYour poem conjures up the tempestuous sea very nicely!

ReplyDeleteAh... that blue sky
ReplyDeleteToo hard to fathom
A handsome why
As I gaze it seems to change
Its face
Its range
The sound it makes inside my head
As I close my eyes
And gaze beyond the safety of my bed
That sky...
That blue, blue sky...
Why do we have to say goodbye?
Sleep tight, True Blue.
Why do we have to say Good-bye
Deletewhen really we want to embrace a hi!
