Transport me to the mountain
where the mythical dragons run
listen a dreamer's tale is spun
nestled in a hidden owl's nest
weary travelers seeking rest
Red Garnet, shinny orbs of light
unfurling wings in dream-time flight
soaring over high mountain ridges
seeking passage, guardian of bridges
Mystical journey, crossing dimensions
searching inner hearts, true intentions
opening gateways, dream dust swirls
discovering life in parallel worlds
Transport me to the mountain
where the mythical dragons run
on ancient land, a story has begun
breathing fire deep inside the soul
returning homeward, feeling whole

I simply love any place where there are dragons... :-)
ReplyDeleteI sense you already have dragons in your soul - your poem transports us there
ReplyDeleteI love that such a place has been dreamed into being, a place of wildness and wonder and of whole.
ReplyDeleteI always love a poem about dragons. Love dragons "breathing fire inside the soul."
ReplyDeleteI love your mythical mountain and "returning homeward, feeling whole". Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteMystical journeys and mythical dragons---sounds like a wondrous way to spend an hour or a lifetime!
ReplyDeleteThis is soo wonderfully magical!!❤️❤️
ReplyDeleteYour poetry reminds me of the richness of books I read for many years, which transported me to lands of the imagination.
ReplyDeleteThat sense of completeness within is sure what all look for, not sure I'd want to look in the woods though lol
ReplyDelete'returning homeward, feeling whole'. Who can ask for more? (except that dragons are always on my wish list)
ReplyDeleteA wonderful path you have taken us down :)

Much love...
Oh yes, please, can I come too? (And btw I am crazy about that owl in your pic. Have a bit of a thing for owls.)
ReplyDeleteI have hiked inside the Grand Canyon. I sense your feelings. Well done. Are there really dragons...
ReplyDeleteThis is wonderful! I place it up there with some of your best work – albeit a crowed pinnacle. ‘where the mythical dragons run’ is positively lilting.
ReplyDelete‘listen a dreamer's tale is spun’ – is an epically grand line. I actually found myself pausing (for several seconds when I reread the piece) – when I came to the word “listen” … imagining myself listening in the beautiful quietude just before that fantastic description unfolds.
This is a really splendid piece of poetry. Beautiful writing!
I enjoyed your poem in its entirety. Especially the penultimate verse where the journey takes me to a parallel world; in fact it inspires my imagination to write about portals of parallel worlds guarded by ......

DeleteHey True
ReplyDeleteHow be you?
Wondrous dream
It doth seem
Seek thine peak
Of which you seek
Of the dragon's flare
With enchanting care.
