Alpha & Omega

source unknown

To find the beginning
shall I,  travel beyond the stars
enter the arcing band of light
seek the circular rainbow
the throne of heaven

To find the beginning
shall I, walk the river of life
rest my weary feet on the
mossy shoreline, drink in
the waters of redemption

To find the beginning
shall I,  sing bird songs
spread my fragile wings,
fly to the highest peak
of my transcendental existence

To find the beginning
shall I, listen with open ears
to the stories of the oaks & pines
passed down through the seasons
ancients whisper to new saplings

To find the beginning
shall I, fire-walk barefoot
across a bed of hot embers
awakening my consciousness
shattering strongholds of regrets
finding faith along the way

To find the beginning
must I,  journey to the end
leaving imprints of my life
on this earthly plane
gravitating  towards the light
transformation of being

  5. Yes, all of the above--except maybe not the hot embers (to each our own). But maybe (sshh) the beginnings are less important than the continuence. Very fine poem!

  8. I enjoyed your journey back to the beginning, Truedessa! I especially love the lines:
    '...walk the river of life
rest my weary feet on the
    mossy shoreline, drink in
    the waters of redemption'
    and
    'listen with open ears
to the stories of the oaks & pines
    passed down through the seasons
    ancients whisper to new saplings'.
I wonder how it would look if we could see the imprints of our lives on this earthly plane...

    1. I too wonder what it would look like, how many places and people have we touched in the journey?

  9. Your describion of the journey, is probably the only way one could find the beginning or the end, kinda like the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow? Loved your write.

  10. Kinda sad if we don't get to find the beginning until we reach the very end. But maybe we're not supposed to.
