waiting in silence for you to appear
in darkness you illuminate my night
time surrounds us in an infinite sphere
waiting in silence for you to appear
without you, mystical dreams disappear
penning poems of sorrow and delight
waiting in silence for you to appear
in darkness you illuminate my night

This is so beautiful, with the repeated line....an intriguing form.
ReplyDeleteVery Good Truedessa.
ReplyDeleteI like the waiting in silence and darkness for the other to bring light.
ReplyDeleteI love the repetition here - it's like the recurrent thoughts you get when you're waiting for something. This feels like a positive anticipation though. I hope they turn up soon.
ReplyDeleteGreat use of repetition in this romantic poem. I love the line ‘time surrounds us in an infinite sphere’.
ReplyDeleteThat special person who brings out the best in us.

Beautiful rhyming take, True! Waiting for a loved one will always be rewarded with a smile rather than a frown. A classic image you've chosen!

There is a sense of calm in the waiting that makes waiting ok here.
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely and sad -- waiting for the moon and sleep and the muse of dreaming to come and make a darkness bright. But sometimes it doesn't come ... that is the waiting of insomnia ...
ReplyDeleteSometimes it doesn't come and you wait. The ceiling fan spins around as, you count the tiles on the ceilings. Wondering if the night will ever end.
