Key To Me

Ben Heine photography

The lady in blue, walks a yellow line
between here and there, it's hard to define

Her heart beats to a melancholy tune
was love some forgotten interlude

resting on the shoulder of a lost dream
skipping stones in a faraway stream

she sings the language of the blues
perhaps, it's time for a new pair of shoes

drifting beyond the veil of the afternoon
in a quiet city street, hope lies strewn

in silent hours, she thinks only of you
wondering if you could ever be true

out of the darkness a crow holds the key
unlocking her captive soul, she flies free

  1. The flow and Rhyme in this is beautiful Truedessa! I think a sad soul can be captive indeed. Always lovely to see you at the Muse.

  2. Wonderful rhythm and color; the lines have a snap that floats just over the sorrow

  3. Truedessa, this is a lovely poem. I like poems that rhyme and taking more time and effort also generates appreciation. Starting with the yellow line walk and ending with her getting free it reads smoothly all the way.

  5. Flying free with new shoes, never know, could beat the blues.

Sometimes by a stroke of good fortune there is always someone out there waiting. It is a question of zeroing in to the kind soul which is not easy.Good thoughts True!
