Quarantine

After the pause, will our hearts beat

renewed with  life,  will we remember

solitude held our souls captive

there are many roads to travel

can you UN-quarantine your mind

will  mysteries be harder to unravel

yesterday fades in the shadows of now

follow the treasure map of dreams

we have to find our way,  somehow

creativity sails in the right hemisphere

catch an adventure on the wild side

poetry floats to our sympathetic ears

flashing out endless warnings signs

bobbling between reality and fiction

quarantine

unseen

war machine

your machine

often means

horrid scene

routine

vaccine

hexachlorophene

authority

majority

minority

Will we survive in this new world

can you UN-quarantine your mind

will the sea protect the coveted pearl

authors note:  This is part of a dream I had last night

The question put forth in the dream was

"Can you UN-quarantine your mind," I was given

a notebook and this is what  I woke up with.

So, there you have it, the wanderings of my mind.

  2. Un-quarantining minds - and hearts - is essential. I really like this poem. It's fascinating what our subconscious throws up sometimes. That's where the real work of poetry happens, down there in the depths. The rest is just organisation.

  3. The new normal may be this way for a long time, the mind can get undone and unwrapped, but could take a while.

  4. Wow. Can you un-quarantine your mind?" That is a wonderful question, and makes me think. Wonderful writing. You have the most amazing dreams.

  5. Dreams are the doorways we walk through to a different perspective and understanding. Here you touch on so many of the questions that bedevil us--how deep is the instinct for survival burying everything else, our other instincts, our very minds and the way we think. What will be left when and if it's ever over? No one knows, but this exploration gives us a compass to steer by.

  6. As usual, your mind came up with something grand.
Will we be able to free our minds again? Yes, but it will take time.
