Hello spring! You have graced us with a spectacular day. The warm golden plumeria sun shines upon my face and soon nature will be in full bloom. I watch the slow moving nebulous white clouds drifting above Listening to music on my afternoon walk I find myself traveling in time. It seems only natural to dream and my mind like a grasshopper jumps from place to place.
The great blue heron wades in the shallow fresh water with a distinctive prehistoric look. Losing none of his grace in repose, waiting patiently to spear a fish. There is a sense of solemness as if life might fly away on mourner’s wings at any moment.
“Market My Letters” plays in my ears and I recall a time when I believed in fairy-tales. The beauty of music is its ability to transform. I close my eyes and inhale the beauty of now.

Haibun Monday : Let's Travel Through Time
hosted my Merril
Optional - Merril added some paint chip names to use like random words. So, I decide to try a few. Can you guess them?
Thank you for reading! "Market My Letters" is a song by Burton Cummings - it is poetic with a whimsical feel of another time period.
I love the way you greet spring in your haibun, Truedessa, and glad she rewarded you with a spectacular day. Music takes me time travelling too.
ReplyDeleteThank you for writing to the prompt. I'm glad you enjoyed the paint chip names! Such a lovely poem of spring. The haiku is so evocative!
ReplyDeleteNot familiar with paint chip names although I think I can find two...
ReplyDeleteThe thought of travel through music is so strong... what a wonderful walk for you to travel through time.
ReplyDeleteEach time I head out of our home for a long walk, music is my companion. I am amazed how it takes me 'out of my head' .. transforms me the way you described so beautifully.
ReplyDeleteWonderful haibun, Truedessa! You used a lot of the paint chip colors, and it worked perfectly for your poem.
