sing
to me
red robin
sweet bird of spring
warmth of golden sun
renew, my weary soul
show me the path of my heart
here a weeping willow once stood
life beats on in the cage of your breast
your song a message of hope, love and joy
my heart flutters to your lyrical notes
poetic verses tweet in the sun
dandelions dance to the beat
nature alive with each breath
songs whisper through the trees
my thoughts drift to you
can you hear me
reflective
living
life

What a lovely moment to witness the robin singing ~ I like the spring season of renewal, hope & joy ~
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed this one Truedessa ~
How very beautiful. I watched a robin in our backyard today. I love their song.
ReplyDeleteAfter every Spring rain, the robins descend to our yard, worm hunting & grubbing around; up to a half dozen at a time, all trilling, cooing, & tweeting; wonder what they talk about?
ReplyDeleteVivid; full of music & light. I especially liked the lines "here a weeping willow once stood // life beats on in the cage of your breast." The contrast--between the old tree which once stood in that place, but (it's implied) finally died, and the tiny, fleeting, yet real&vivid life of the singing robin--is poignant.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, thank you for sharing this moment so we can enjoy it too.
ReplyDeleteBeautifully translated from nature to all.
ReplyDeleteA lovely choice of theme for this reflective and reflected poem. It suits the form beautifully. Brava
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. I was struck by the fact that both your poem AND my poem seemed to have similar messages, and we were both inspired by birds. It is that time of year! Smiles.
ReplyDeleteAnd that moment gave you a beautiful poem!
ReplyDeleteSinging you a little tune as the moment sure caught your eye
ReplyDeleteDandelions dancing.. wonderful if you don't care for weed. Love the song of robins
ReplyDeleteBjorn, I recently read an article about dandelions and the article said these weeds play a role in pollination. The leaves themselves offer much healing and are often used in salads. I say let the dandelions sway as the bees waltz. Thanks for the comment and may the robins song continue to bring hope.
DeleteBeautifully written!
ReplyDeleteMore peace expressed in beauty. Spring inspires!
ReplyDeleteLovely depiction of spring.
ReplyDeleteWhat a happy piece. I imagine spring at its peak. Though there are sad notes in this piece, the joyful stood out.

Nature – not only reflective; also vibrant.
ReplyDeleteWonderfully written...and I am vey glad that you stopped to take in the wonder of this moment when you saw the robin :)
ReplyDeleteVibrant life singing in the place where a life had been taken. A lovely picture of hope!
ReplyDeleteI admire the robin's role in this poem, replacing the old willow with new hope. "Life beats on in the cage of your breast, your song a message of hope, love and joy". Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI hate to see any trees cut down, so I found this very uplifting.
Beautiful words inspired by the beauty of nature.
