Element Number Eight

Pixabay

breathe in, breathe out
element #8  keeps me alive
it's called the "breath of life"

fishing in the waters of my
imagination,  I bait a line in
hope of catching a dream
hooking a bit of poetry

Oxygen forms in the heart
of the stars,  shinning from
the heavens,  I gaze in awe
breathless
casting
my
wish
of
peace

  3. I love that you have called your poem ‘Element Number Eight’ rather than ‘Oxygen’, Truedessa, and the lines:
‘fishing in the waters of my
imagination, I bait a line in
    hope of catching a dream
    hooking a bit of poetry’.

    1. Thanks Kim, I think all poets have hopes of baiting a line and hooking a poem.

  4. Truedessa, as I read this something strikes me. 8 for oxygen. 8 turned on its side is the symbol for infinity. connection? i think so. Your poem sounds good read aloud also.

    1. Infinity, that is interesting, it hadn't occurred to me as I was writing the poem. It is also featured on the Tarot card of strength. Thank you for pointing that out to me.
