Roar of a Dream

courtesy of Wikipedia

standing on the edge of reality
in the grasslands of the African
savanna

I hear the roar of a dream
chasing me in the soaring
humidity

gazing upon the umbrella thorn
my mouth parched thirsting
rain to cool the heat of my
heart's desire

  7. I am familiar with those raring dreams, but not with the umbrella thorn; thank you for the photo, what a stunning tree. I love the ‘oar’ sounds in the middle stanza.

  8. Hi Truedessa - wonderful exposition of the African savannah ... and lack of rain ... while the 'roar' of nature can so easily evoke - cheers Hilary

  9. "The roar of a dream" - makes me think of the lions, struggling to survive in that savanna they once ruled.

Nicely done. Yes, western silly superstitions feed the, of course, ineffectual "bless you" after sneezes.
