Anchoring Hope

Once, I sang the songs of the stars
lulled to sleep by the tranquil sea
my heart wept to a bluesy guitar
web-toed gulls flew wild and free
in my dreams, you traveled with me
our lives a changing kaleidoscope
now, I sing songs, anchoring hope
