The Apple of My Eye

The Sunday Muse

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder

what do you see, when you look at me

do you see more than a reflection

do you see the  fine lines of time

do you see the depth of my soul

do you see my unfulfilled dreams

do you see me more than skin

do you see, my imperfections

do you see the hidden scars

do you see an expanding heart

do you see me for who I am

an apple half eaten, the fruit

of the spirit in need of healing

from the bruises of life....

  3. Use of repetition is so well done; drives it all home, right into that last line.

  4. I like the way you 'hammered' (in a good way) readers with questions. Well done, True.

  5. I see an expanding heart....a visionary and a dreamer, with connections to the spirit world.

  6. My left eye sees an accomplished poem writer, one whose writings are very thought provoking and easy to read.
My right eyes sees blurry and untrustworthy, like looking through sunglasses with a permanent smudge that can't be wiped clean. (I have an appointment with an eye surgeon January 22 with cataract removed in my hopes.)

    1. Thanks, I tend to like repetition. That is probably why I like writing to form occasionally,

    1. Hi Gillena

Sometimes, we have to look closer to truly see.

  10. Such an evocative write. We all hide behind a protective mask of some sort, created by the trials and tribulations of life. It takes time and caring to truly "see" someone!

    1. Susie I think we all need healing and a bit of clearing. I hope those haunts flee and leave you free....
