True Blue Blues

I sing the blues

I sing the blues

I sing the heartache blues

life it can be hard

changing every day

this heart I have to guard

and this rain just won't go away

I sing the true blue blues

I sing the true blue blues

I spent all these nights dreamin' of you

it's been so long, since I've seen the sun

the places we'd go, the things we'd do

cryin' in the night, love you can't outrun

I sing the blues

I sing the blues

I sing the heartache blues

Life it can be hard

tell me what can I say

love is something I can't discard

sometimes there's a price to pay

I sing the true blue blues

I sing the true blue blues

were these dreams, those of a fool

wishin' for more than we could give

even the sweetest dream can be cruel

in my heart, the beat of love still lives

I sing the blues

I sing the blues

I sing the blues

I sing the heartache blues

  1. The deeper the love the bluer the loss! The repetition works very well.

    4. The sun is shining in my neck of the woods. So now I'm thinking, "Will this summer be better than last year's?" What do you reckon, True?

  4. Beautiful blues, Trudessa, with a catchy refrain. I imagined it put to music.

  6. This is killer True, you have written a poem that is a song. If you are unable to do so, find a musician friend or acquaintance that will help to put music to this. I wrote poetry for years with my band, and I would work with my keyboard player and lead guitarist to follow my singing the words, to them put a musical structure under it. I had the general composition of an arrangement idea in my head, but they helped me polish the formal structure as well, — introduction (intro), verses, pre-choruses, choruses (refrains), "middle eight" bridge, and often a play-out (outro). Over years I got reasonably effective working with various musicians — and I LOVED it. My two favorite arranging partners over the 25 years of iterations of my band were both keyboardists: Frank Talbert and David Dominy — sadly, both deceased. Sorry True, I’ve wandered. Excellent words you’ve written here.
