We the dreamers
see with different eyes
visions of you, me and us
who travel the night sky
as our eyelids softly shut
We the dreamers
under the moon and stars
navigate the unknown realm
darkness can cut leaving scars
whom or what is at the helm
We the dreamers
traveling through vast space
confronting beasts of the night
cosmic storms often await
praying for morning light
We the dreamers
pave the way for non-dreamers
searching for fragments of hope
deceivers, receivers, believers
shattered pieces of the globe
We the dreamers
collective in the quest
gathering energy seeking healing
the night often brings no rest
even though we are sleeping
We the dreamers
invite you to look inside
follow that small beacon of light
let your conscious be your guide
may our hearts somehow unite

I haven't felt much like writing lately…
Thanks for reading
Finding beacons of light: a surprisingly rational endeavour.
ReplyDeleteThat light can be hard to find in times of darkness.
DeleteI love the thought of dreamers being the pioneers for the rest of us... I just hope that there is not another set of dreamers who lead us into darkness
ReplyDeleteBjorn I fear there will aways be dream destroyers with evil agendas.
DeleteGreat use of rhetorical devices in this poem, especially the repetition of the collective ‘We the dreamers’ and the lists of three: ‘you, me and us’ and ‘deceivers, receivers, believers’ – and the powerful phrase ‘shattered pieces of the globe’.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kim, if only we could collectively dream our way into peace for you, me and us.
DeletePave the way for the non-dreamers - indeed!
ReplyDeleteTogether lets pave the way.. one dreamer at a time….,
DeleteWe the dreamers ~~ I belong in this category, True. A lovely collective collection of thoughts.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to dream fold. Helen
DeleteVery well done. We dream of a world peace, while all around the wars rage!
ReplyDeleteDwight we need to keep the dream alive..even when the way seems impossible..
DeleteYou mention you haven't felt much like writing lately. I am so glad you wrote and posted this poem. These words especially hit me
ReplyDelete"We the dreamers

YES.....hope is and must be realized by actions.
Beautiful words here.
The prompt spoke to me and the words just came…I am involved in dreamwork. Meditating and dreaming as a collective group
DeleteWhen I read this, I said to myself, I belong to this collective: We the dreamers. Love this gem of a poem.
ReplyDeleteGrace you do belong to this group! Welcome.
DeleteTrue, this is one of your best. I love "we the dreamers pave the way for non-dreamers.....searching for fragments of hope." Such a beautiful, mystical poem, the stuff of stars.
ReplyDeleteHi Sherry, thank you for your kind comment.
DeleteLuv your repeated line "We the dreamers"
ReplyDeleteIt is so embracing. It gives normalcy to contemplatives.

Thank you Gillena, have a peaceful weekend
DeleteLove the dreamers, who bring such vitality to our lives!
ReplyDeleteThank you Di, we need positive energy when negativity circles us
DeleteI love the repetition of "We the dreamers." I suppose I am one, as well. It makes me think of the lines from "Imagine,"--"You may say, I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one. . ." This is a calming, hopeful poem.
ReplyDeleteThank you Merril.. . One of Lennon’s finest songs and he was indeed a dreamer who inspired possibility..
DeleteBeautifully expressed collective voice, Truedessa. I especially loved: "We the dreamers
ReplyDeletepave the way for non-dreamers
searching for fragments of hope"
