In life we go through different stages
what songs would make our set list
which classics are deemed ageless
how to create a gentle ebb and flow
the opener needs to be high energy
dancing to the hits under moon glow
the middle holding different tempo’s
much like life from ballads to the blues
would inner rhythm and cadence grow
can a closing leave a lasting impression
would epic songs somehow be forgotten
the compilation is at your own discretion
the encore should consist of the greatest
songs, poems and stories of your life
perhaps a selection from your latest
whatever your individual musical set list
remember music can be a beautiful gift

Making playlists is a lot of fun. I appreciate you sharing your process on making yours.
ReplyDeleteLove the flow and ending. I sometimes wonder what it would be like to have a life score or to only talk in song lyrics.
ReplyDeleteI love this poem, True. I think you've convinced me that there's a musical score to our lives, individually unique and to be gifted to others if done right.
ReplyDeleteMusic at whatever vintage contemporary or classics will always be welcomed. You've done it very well to relate it to the various era! Love it True!

I love the thought of an individual set list (or maybe a mixtape)
