We Are Still Here

Take me out to where the wild flowers grow
the natural world a place for thoughts to flow

In nature there is a slower relaxing pace to life
one can decompress, no news to cause strife

Melodic soundscape creates a sense of ease
warblers, robins and chickadees aim to please

The brave and courageous of the sacred earth
understood its timeless beauty and worth

In the forest you can hear the ancient drum
beating steady and soothing like a bee hum

Walking amongst the maples, hickories and elm
pure enchantment a passage to another realm

If you patiently listen you can hear the whispers
of shadow walkers in soft moccasin slippers

We are still here; we are still here

When nature takes your breath away
in all its wonder, enjoy the moment, the day

  1. Lovely rhyming in this poem, Truedessa. I especially love the thought of hearing the whispers of shadow walkers in soft moccasins. Beautiful.
