lofty summer dreams I reach
for thee
my limbs yielding to your wandering touch
roots entwined , together we climb one tree
golden leaves gently fall, baring too much
my limbs yielding to your wandering touch
roots entwined , together we climb one tree
golden leaves gently fall, baring too much
planting sweet
kisses, I give you my heart
tilting skyward, our crowns burst in sunlight
our trunks molding forming natural art
dancing together swaying in moonlight
tilting skyward, our crowns burst in sunlight
our trunks molding forming natural art
dancing together swaying in moonlight
beneath a canopy full
of desire
whispering secrets that only we hear
peaking in the shadows we reach higher
a song unsung, whistles within our ear
whispering secrets that only we hear
peaking in the shadows we reach higher
a song unsung, whistles within our ear
wrapping my branches around
you I sigh
watering our thirsty roots, heaven cries
watering our thirsty roots, heaven cries

Whet a delightful sonnet.. I become one with the enchantments of your words.. united like a tree, has and eternal flavor.. and that makes it so romantic...
ReplyDeleteBjorn, thank you for such a lovely comment. Sometimes, the heart just speaks..
DeleteAnd like a tree such feelings just grow and grow, how high they go only two know. But after such a poem as one, I think they need a bottle of water haha

DeleteSweet and romantic sonnet ~ Its been some time since I wrote one so I am admiring yours, smiles ~ Have a lovely week ~
ReplyDeleteHi Grace,
DeleteI haven't written one in a while and just felt moved to pen this one. Thanks for reading. I hope you have a good week as well.
I love the intertwining of your words Truedessa. You create a wonderful upward movement as the two grow closer in their molding together.
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting and you reply. Always nice to read comments.
DeleteI really love this because, much like a tree, love grows and the roots deepen. As a tree becomes more and more a part of the earth as its roots grow, we become more and more a part of the other person as our love grows.
ReplyDeleteI agree hopefully, if there are strong roots love will continue to grow upwards.
DeleteThis is beautiful. Love the sensuality and sexuality in it, and beneath it, the love - the roots. Wonderful write. I enjoyed reading it so much.
ReplyDeleteMyrna - Thank you so much for your visit and your lovely comment brought a smile to my face.
DeleteSo beautiful!! I especially love your closing lines.
ReplyDeleteSherry, my friend nice to see you here..thank you for visiting..remember to always keep your dream alive.
Deletethe specificity of 30 roots...and one tree...those are things that jump out at me...and give a cool undertone of meaning beyond what the words say, to me.
ReplyDeleteHi Brian,
DeleteI think it should have said thirsty roots but, now I wonder about the symbolism of "30" I know it has some strong roots.
