sharing with dVerse as it seems to fit the prompt
and I just wrote it on Monday..so hope that is ok..
we are more fragile than we admit. Well done.
ReplyDeleteI agree, thanks for visiting..
DeleteThis is not an easy form .. your poetry is lovely.
ReplyDeleteHelen,
DeleteI was introduced to this form at dVerse and I've really become fond of its power. Thanks for the lovely comment.
Despite fragility, we still yearn for pleasures & long for a touch though 'breathless' :)
ReplyDeleteNice words.
Anita,
DeleteI think we all yearn for pleasure in life.
Elegant and pleasing; well written.
ReplyDeleteThank you Berowne..and what mystery do you have for us to solve today?
DeleteSkipped the quiz this week, but I'll be back next Sunday. Thanx for your interest.
DeleteWell, then I will be back next Sunday to see what you have presented. I like to challenge my mind and sometimes I need to Google a bit so, I gather some knowledge as well. I really did enjoy your post this week..something a bit different.
DeleteSoft and flowing.
ReplyDeleteDon't do it moths - you'll get zapped.
Hi Alex,
DeleteA short life as they want to embrace the light..but, zapped they will soon be.
They wear it like a cloak , dont they?
ReplyDeleteYes, they do wear it like a cloak..
Deletejust like we long for someone or something
ReplyDeleteLonging for that one touch..
DeleteThey are always seeking the light...an eternal pull within them.
ReplyDeleteThat is true Keith, they hide during the day and at night they come out in search of light..a magnetic pull.
DeleteThe moths want the light as it shines through the night, but some wants can kill and sure aren't a thrill
ReplyDeleteThat is true Pat, a sad demise just to touch the light.
DeleteBeautiful, fragility circling bright lights....
ReplyDeleteCircling light charmed by the brightness..
DeleteGreat images. Did you link to dVerse? It's perfect for the Poetic Prompt.
ReplyDeleteThanks Victoria, I just linked up and I look forward to reading a bit later.
DeleteVery beautiful. We are all fragile in this life.
ReplyDeleteYes, life is fragile..
DeleteDelicate touch for fragile subject matter--nicely done.
ReplyDeletethank you
DeleteThe short life of a moth.. yes I though the picture a beautiful picture for the prompt too.. You did so well with your cinquains.. (ps I corrected your link at dVerse)..
ReplyDeleteHi Bjorn,
DeleteThanks for visiting and fixing my link..smiles..have a great day...
I wonder if the brightness of the light blinds the moths to all other things.
ReplyDeleteHmm, I think it causes them confusion...
Deleteyes, totally okay, it fits the prompt for sure :) this is a very soft write, but still plays with the contrasts of light/dark well
ReplyDeleteThanks Anthony...I thought so too the softer side of dark/light..but, in the end we all die with the hope of touching the light..
DeleteThat last word breathless wraps this up perfectly...
ReplyDeleteThanks Tess for the prompt and it fit in with the prompt over at dVerse so I was able to share it with friends there as well.
DeleteAh, the longing by the moths eventually ends in their death as they search for the light. Sad really, but perhaps not bad to die in quest of brightness.
ReplyDeleteI guess you could say it is a deadly attraction..strange as they only come out at night and then are drawn to the light.
DeleteIn the great arc of the cosmos, each of us is the moth, living our short lives, reaching toward the light; needing first growth, then solace, then fuel for transcendence; nice work on both prompts.
ReplyDeleteGood Evening Glenn, that is true we are all very much like a moth. You have great insight my friend as you understand the depth of the soul.
DeleteLovely cinquain ~ I specially like the second one, darkness drawn to light, fragile life ~
ReplyDeleteGood Evening Grace,
DeleteThanks I too like the second best..
very subtle

Thank you, sometimes we can say a lot in a few word.
DeleteIt is the moth's nature to be drawn to the light. It is sad that their passion is what often kills them.
ReplyDeletePassion that burned them..
DeleteI like this. The darkness is breathless because it has no life. It lurks hidden from the light.
ReplyDeleteHi Myrna,
DeleteVery true words...
always drawn to the light... the temptation and the knowing about our own fragility... cool image
ReplyDelete;) Lovely Mag. Love and Light, S
ReplyDeleteAren't we all! Lovely.
ReplyDelete"fighting dark temptation"… a human condition we all share!
ReplyDeleteGuess we all fight that dark temptation soon or later. You took this one a different direction than I did. Well done.
