seaside
walking barefoot
wearing my lucky jeans
rolled up cuff sand between my toes
we meet
walking barefoot
wearing my lucky jeans
rolled up cuff sand between my toes
we meet
warm smile
torn faded jeans
worn from the storms of life
your hand rests in my back pocket
feels right

Deletehand resting in pocket, comfort, security, bliss, i like the emotions of this. Well done.
ReplyDeleteThank you alan..reassurance in a moment of peace..
DeleteOne can always spot someone with a smile and invariably is a jeans wearer. Jeans wearers are respectable people. Nicely Truedessa!
ReplyDeleteHank
One can be happy wearing their jeans ..an easy spirit..
DeleteA relaxing moment.
ReplyDeleteFeels right to him as well!
Let's hope so...

ReplyDeleteThank Laurie..enjoyed the prompt..
DeleteAhhh where does the hand go once in the back pocket lol a nice tender moment on a beach, with two in reach
ReplyDeletehmm..I'll leave that to your imagination as to where the hand goes..
DeleteI really like the idea of lucky jeans as well! Some pairs that I have I feel that way about also. Smiles. And yes, sometimes those torn jeans have a kind of history to them & have warm memories!
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Mary,
DeleteLucky jeans bring out the best in me I guess..and some jeans have been around with a story to tell.
(You can erase this comment....but I think this poem would fit this week's Midweek Motif at Poets United as well: storms.)
ReplyDeleteThanks Mary, I think I will share it with it PU..
DeleteThanks to Mary that I got to read this poem! Jeans used to be worn by life before we bought them through fashion houses. And the ones that weathered the storms are the best.. A relationship that fits the pockets of life-worn jeans may also have ridden many storms. I love the subtle beauties and vastness of this deceptively simple poem.
ReplyDeleteHi Susan,
DeleteSo glad you were able to read my jean poem..I always enjoy reading your comments as they are so insightful.
I agree that some jeans really have their own story. I like the simple and subtle quality of your poem. I wonder what song you had provided.
ReplyDeleteThat is true..think of the many places they have gone with you on the journey of life..
DeleteLife's a beach!
ReplyDeleteWhere all the best things happen and some stormy things too!
Ah, life is a beach..rolling with the waves..
DeleteLovely jeans poem! I like its simplicity. Thanks for visiting my blog as well.
ReplyDeleteThank you Peggy and you are welcome I will be back to read..
DeleteFlows very well ~ I like the pocket of thoughts, sweet ~
ReplyDeleteThanks Grace..flows with the current I guess..
DeleteIt's beautiful, Trudessa, and somehow soothing. The thought of writing a poem has always scared the heck out of me, so I admire your ability to create lovely poems.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your kind words..I am sure you could write a poem or two..
DeleteThe relationship as a storm good choice.
ReplyDeleteAh, but many relationships have to ride the ebb and flow..
DeleteWhat a wonderful pocket of thoughts..i too think worn in things are comfortable and soothing..they speak of having lived..and enjoyed...
ReplyDeletea pocket of thoughts always ready to write a line or two..
Deletegreat poem well balanced lines and creative imagery
ReplyDeleteThank you..we all need some balance in life..
DeleteI love this ... it reminds me of days long ago when a hand rested in the back pocket of my jeans on long, leisurely walks.
ReplyDeletethere is something comforting about a hand in the pocket watching
Deletethe waves roll..
two situations depicted beautifully with jeans as an analogy
ReplyDeleteLike A Pair of Jeans
Thanks, I do love a good pair of jeans..
DeleteMatching jeans, a connection, a magic moment, shared. Lovely write.
ReplyDeleteThanks matching jeans you say...that would be a connection for sure..
DeleteWhat a lovely story told in so few words. I love it.
ReplyDeleteMany of my jeans have such history. Such fond memories. That's the great thing about jeans, isn't it? Other pieces of clothes wear, we throw them away. Jeans get a little rip or start to fade, it just adds character. It adds to the story.
Thanks for coming over for a visit..I'm still laughing over your camping post. That was great..
