The gray mist of dawn
holds back the light
awaiting the song of
the mourning doves
soothing coo-coo
slow, sleepily the dreamer
awakens in the stillness
of the softening fringes
between yawning moon
and winking sunlight
lifting the morning blinds
greeting the new day
