Sands of Time

Beach, Sea, Wave, Water, Ocean

It was a wondrous chapter in my life. One,  I never wanted to end.

I fell into the oceans of your poetry and songs.  I felt the ebb and flow

of magical energy walking the shoreline of a distant love.

Our words were made of stardust.  Our souls danced beyond the clouds.

I often re-call all the poetic moments.  The lyrical ballads still beat in

the chamber of my heart.

You,  my untouched love remain a song un-written.

"When it is over, said and done,  it was a time and there was

never enough of it"

Muddy Tracks

The Sunday Muse

The storm rolled in on a dusty dirt road

no one realized what happened that day

there was a pause and the world slowed

the storm rolled in on a dusty dirt road

the sky rumbled in a hazy somber  gray

muddy,  the reaper carried a heavy load

the storm rolled in on a dusty dirt road

no one realized what happened that day

Between the Bulrush & Cattails

Between the bulrush and cattails

a glimpse of  nature's creatures

where did this pair come

from, how far have they traveled

I considered their symbolic meaning

in my own

life

recalling  a dream where I once sprouted

wings and flew the heavens un-tethered

a giant hawk

something stirs in the tree nearby,  a

red winged blackbird takes flight

sadly, my wings have been clipped

and I'm grounded here when I

want to fly to you

when will covid

be a memory

and

not

reality

in a dream last night, I thought of

you and in the morning light you

disappeared....

and I envy the two birds sojourning

together

How Does Your Garden Grow

Sunflowers, Sunflower, Yellow, Petal

Strolling through a sunflower garden

I wonder can I find my way through

the maze

       hundreds of blooms following

       the sun's; life giving rays

standing tall, seeds of hope

bees pollinating dreams

in darkness look to the eastern

horizon a new day is awakening

Quarantine

Coronavirus, Virus, Mask, Corona

After the pause, will our hearts beat

renewed with  life,  will we remember

solitude held our souls captive

there are many roads to travel

can you UN-quarantine your mind

will  mysteries be harder to unravel

yesterday fades in the shadows of now

follow the treasure map of dreams

we have to find our way,  somehow

creativity sails in the right hemisphere

catch an adventure on the wild side

poetry floats to our sympathetic ears

flashing out endless warnings signs

bobbling between reality and fiction

quarantine

unseen

war machine

your machine

often means

horrid scene

routine

vaccine

hexachlorophene

authority

majority

minority

Will we survive in this new world

can you UN-quarantine your mind

will the sea protect the coveted pearl

authors note:  This is part of a dream I had last night

The question put forth in the dream was

"Can you UN-quarantine your mind," I was given

a notebook and this is what  I woke up with.

So, there you have it, the wanderings of my mind.

Seeing Clearly

In nakedness, I find wisdom

seeing past the veil of illusions

connected to the moon phases

tides rise and fall in my internal

rivers,  life echoes through my

heart shaped chamber

An oracle comes to me

on swift silent wings

guardian of sacred knowledge

traveling between the worlds

whispering a prophetic warning

stand guard,  change is coming

binocular vision is needed to

focus on what truly is and

what is fabrication

under moonlight we soar

to the highest perch

unlocking the mysteries

of our consciousness

sitting in silence there

is knowledge,  be clear

on intentions and what

desires you wish to

manifest

navigating the dark skies

there is light let your

inner lantern guide

the way
