Exhausted, I wipe
the last tears
of the day from my eyes, slipping into
a dream under a hunter's moon
Awakening slowly to a new reality
I arise the navigator, on a lucid
road of mysterious adventures
Following the music of my heart
under an October sky, I see a
road stretched out before me
A flock of starlings fly overhead
to whom will your inner voice trill
sing the song of your soul's desire
I wonder how far I must travel
to realize my highest peak
of consciousness is only a
dream away

We must always follow the music of our heart asleep or awake. This is beautiful Truedessa!
ReplyDeleteThank you Carrie and for hosting the prompt. I just love photo prompts.
DeleteOh this is beautiful, True. The highest peak of consciousness only a dream away. I watched the most beautiful movie today called The Storm Boy, about a friendship between a boy and an orphan pelican. Beautiful and both heartbreaking and heartwarming, like life. I cried buckets. I think you would love it.
ReplyDeleteHi Sherry,
DeleteI will have to see if I can find that movie. I am sure I will need a box of tissues.
I love the ending - one dream away is a special thought and place to be in
ReplyDeleteI think so too, one dream closer to another reality.
DeleteOh, what a beautiful response to this image.
ReplyDeleteThank you Rosemary!
Deletean excellent response to the prompt.
ReplyDeletei like the message of strength and perseverance in the poem, to go forward despite what unknowns lie ahead.
I think it's all one can do in the journey moving onward in uncertainty.
DeleteHave to keep on a traveling to find that one perfect, or imperfect, dream.
ReplyDeletehaha - well you know me and dreams some are fragmented at best.
DeleteAh, I like the photo and the poem that you wrote which expressed its meaning. I like the idea that one's highest peak of consciousness is only a dream away. (And hopefully a very GOOD dream!)
ReplyDeleteThank you Mary, may all your dreams be good ones as well.
DeleteThank you! We live in hope..... Smiles.
DeleteSuch an evocative response to the image!❤️
ReplyDeleteWe can realize our dreams through real life adventures.
ReplyDeleteThat we do, we just need to be open to new adventures.
DeleteMissed you too, True!. It would have been at Pat's most mornings, otherwise. Am ok but distractions came along. Will try to maintain presence as before. Thanks Ma'am!
ReplyDeleteHank
Hi Hank,
DeleteNice to see you, I hope the distractions were good ones?
Always a dream away …. just around the bend … Yes!!
ReplyDeleteAlways, out there waiting to be discovered.
