 In the morning mist of reflection
waving goodbye to the past year
filled with beauty and imperfections
beneath the willow, wiping a tear

Wading through the marshes of life
seeking balms of shimmering light
this weary heart longs to take flight
dreams out of sight, dreams out of sight

gravity grounds me to the earth
patience a message from a bird
serenity, no need for words
what is love worth, what is love worth

calling me to the water's edge
moving softly with shallow breath
crossing an emotional ledge
poetry in depth, poetry in depth

connected we see eye to eye
clouds drift by, revealing blue sky
healing torn wings, so I might fly
lifting me high, lifting me high

she dreams of lands that no one knows
thousands of archers guard the sky
here the golden owl nightly flies

beyond the veil sturdy pines grow
tonight the journey long and slow
seeking inner peace her heart sighs

mind, soul and body connecting
mysteries of the night arise

Tranquility, on water's edge

you bring a promise, a pledge
nearby, budding willow cries
