Siesta

In the wake of  mid-day she dares to dream
canary sun warming her flesh
that one touch that keeps her alive
a longing that resides deep inside
surely he would possess her

embracing memories in a hammock sweet siesta
swaying to the sultry flamenco beat..feeling the heat
her mind races with rapid fire thinking of him
he captured her heart with torrid hands
haunting melody playing in her head

sing to me, sing to me love
sing to me  from dawn to dusk
sing to me about infinite love...

awakening in spirit, she feels him
never far away, never close enough
bathing in an array of wonder
eyes twinkle in sunlight, lofty thoughts of him
ray of sanity in a spectrum of insanity

sleeping in the light of day
visions of him behind rose colored eyes
serenading her in the shadows
come dance with me, follow my lead
in sunlight cheek to cheek

sing to me, sing to me love
sing to me  from dawn to dusk
sing to me about infinite love

 breath away
from now to eternity...
 sweet siesta

  4. I must agree
    Today with thee
Just lying there in the sun
Would sure be relaxing a ton
    And dreaming away
About what may be at ones bay
As long as no sun burn came
Then it may not be so tame

  10. It is wonderful when one has a hammock to relax in and wonderful memories to recollect as one takes a much deserved (I am sure) siesta. I enjoyed this, and now I wanna lie in a hammock. Smiles.

  14. Lyrical, romantic and a poem that makes me want to feel the warmth of the canary sun, the song and the touch.

  19. It's easy to become drawn into the dream here. I especially like the way you use the three song lines twice in the structure - this works very well for me and gives the whole a dreamlike quality.
