A Riot of Flowers

I beheld a riot of brightly colored flowers
focusing on the array of  beautiful tulips
shimmering after the morning showers
the park alive with smiling faces and music
there’s a treasured song in my heart, I call ours
poetic lyrics written in the realm of my dreams
the night is filled with unexplainable encounters
how to cultivate the seeds of love, I am clueless
perhaps, today, it's just about enjoying flowers

Northern Lights Delight

Free Aurora Borealis Night photo and picture

 There's a place out there
where the northern lights dance
in dazzling greens and hues of blue

It's a place where dreams connect
with the mystical heavens

It's a place where magic takes
center stage and the heart beats
with the rhythm of night

The Night Sky

The sky deepens in darkness
stars glittering the heavens
welcoming the new moon

Drifting into a sea of dreams
guide me to shores of wisdom
they are waiting for rediscovery

Reset the path of inner harmony
serenade me with ancient songs
touching the frequency of love

Sailing towards morning light
nasty storm rides in on dragon wings
full of fury with lightning speed

clouds release a cleansing breath
watering the earth, filling river beds
soaking the tree roots for growth

Reset the path of inner harmony
rays of light crack through the storm
awakening to the promises of a new day

Box of Dreams

Free desk map book illustration

It’s said everyone has a box of unopened dreams
some are lost upon wakening in the morning sun
some pieces drift away in the dense fog of night
some seem out of reach, like trying to touch a star
some are fragments from another time and space
some just don’t find a way to manifestation….

I found a box filled with dreams inside….

How do we open these boxes of unopened dreams
do we set intentions before the sandman appears
do we look for symbols and signs in the crevices of time
do we dare to take a deeper look into hidden places
do we sail our ship of dreams into uncharted waters
do we fight dragons in hopes of finding our internal fire
do we navigate into worlds unknown, for answers
tell me, how do we open this mystery box of dreams

I found a box filled with dreams inside

Perhaps, all it takes it to open your mind to possibilities
dust off the cobwebs, so good dreams can filter through
close your eyes, travel the roads to your place of heart
put yourself center stage, this is your life, your story
find the courage, to open your one-of-a-kind dream box
remember, dreams are meant to be lived…believe...

I found a box filled with dreams inside

One Dance, One Chance

Tell me there’s time for that mystical dance
we’ll create magic under the moon and stars
our worlds meeting, while we have the chance
tell me there’s time for that mystical dance
we’ll write a lyrical ode to poetic romance
there will never be another story like ours
tell me there’s time for that mystical dance
we’ll create magic under the moon and stars

Calm

Free Magnolia Magnolia Tree photo and picture

Today, I woke up seeking calm
where do you find it, I wonder
is it found in the morning's rising sun
is it found in the robin redbreast's song
is it found in a field of wild dandelions
is it found in the sway of maple trees

Can you tell  me, where calm is

Today, I woke up seeking calm
where do you find it, I wonder
is it in the warmth of the noontime sun
is it in the turtle slowly making it's way
is it in the heron patiently seeking a meal
is it in the whispers of the birch trees

Can you tell me, where calm is

Today, I woke up seeking calm
where do you find it, I wonder
is it found in a tangerine and crimson sunset
is it found in the beat of my humble drum
is it found in the songs unsung in my heart
is it found in the beauty of magnolia trees

Can you tell me, where calm is

Just Another Rainy Day

Free Puddle Water photo and picture

The weather fits my mood today
rainy with heavy lingering clouds
all I see out the window are crows
dark and ominous in their flight
last night, I had a disturbing dream
there were hundreds of baby turtles
dying at my feet, how many more
will die on their quest to find life
saving waters….

Today, I ponder the wonder of love
it used to inspire me, much like
days of clear blue skies and the
smell of jasmine on a spring day
but, not today…. I look out the
window and see the trees are still
not fully clothed…caught in between
waiting to bloom under this dome of doom
much like me..

just another rain gear day, here
or maybe no water-repellent garb
I'll  just walk in the cold rain
as it pounds the earth
puddles forming at my feet
and let it soak me in heaven's
tears..

Today, I recall days when I was full of life
composing uplifting poetry and
songs, trying to convey messages
from my heart to you…but, today
all I can compose is the blues or
perhaps, muster up enough energy
to sing dirges in the dark, summoning
haunting ghosts of you and I…walking
in the shadows of yesterday,

nothing last forever they sing, perhaps,
they are right...gone are my dreams of
you and I...wiping a tear from my eye...
somewhere, love died....but, I am
sure you survived....
